MADE @ The Local

Mugs & Mingle

Team building where everyone actually talks — and leaves with a mug instead of a takeaway deck.

Nobody has to be good at this

That's the whole trick. You're painting pre-made pottery — a mug, a plate, a bowl — so there's no wheel to fail at and no skill gap to be embarrassed about. Everyone starts even. Two hours later the quiet one on your team has painted something ridiculous and the room knows each other better than it did at any offsite with a whiteboard.

Then we fire it, and everyone drinks out of it at their desk for years.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a team event cost?

The party fee is $150 + tax, which reserves the studio for 2 hours and includes one fountain beverage per guest. Pottery pieces are separate and paid the day of — they run $12–$80 depending on the piece, so people can pick something small or go big.

Can we put it on one company card?

Yes. Mugs & Mingle is set up so you can pay as a group or let everyone pay individually. Whichever is less of a headache for your accounting.

How big a team fits?

The studio seats up to 25 painters, plus non-painting guests if some folks just want to come and hang out.

How long does it take?

Two hours of booked studio time. That's enough for people to pick a piece, actually paint it, and talk to each other — which is usually the whole point.

Do people need to be artistic?

No, and that's the best part. You're painting pre-made bisque pottery — a mug, a plate, a bowl — not throwing clay on a wheel. Everyone starts from the same place, and the person who takes it least seriously usually wins the room.

When do we get the pieces?

We glaze and fire everything in our kilns on-site. Pieces are ready within 14 days and packaged together for one pickup, so one person can grab the whole box for the office.

How far is it from Nashville?

About an hour and ten minutes, and roughly half an hour from Dickson. We're upstairs at 111 S Public Square in Centerville, above The LOCAL Place — so lunch and coffee are literally downstairs.

Can we get food for the group?

Yes. We make sharable boards in-house — from a $10 Board for One to $30 spreads like Little Bit of Everything or a Caprese Spread. Gluten free is no charge.
